The whole crew is me.
I’m Crystal Hickman. I own Magnolia Slumber Party Rental, and I’m also the planner, the stylist, the delivery van, the setup crew and the takedown crew.
I started Magnolia in 2024 out of Metropolis because I wanted to make the kind of sleepover kids remember — the kind with real beds and twinkling lights, not a pile of blankets on the floor. The first setup was for one birthday. It has not slowed down since.
I cut every tassel garland by hand. I pick the pillows for each theme. I show up the day of your party, build the whole room, and come back the next day to carry it out again. Nobody sub-contracts any part of this, which is the reason I can promise it looks the way it looks.
How a booking goes
Four steps, and three of them are mine.
2 · Pick your look
Choose a theme or a blanket colour, and tell me anything you want matched. Plenty of parents add their own decorations or a backdrop too, and if you want the tents arranged a particular way, just say.
3 · I set it all up
I arrive the day of your party and build the room. Tents, air mattresses, white sheets, blankets, pillows, trays, tassel garland, lanterns and twinkle lights. You don’t lift anything.
4 · I come back for it
Rentals run a full 24 hours. I return the following day and take every piece away with me. No stripping beds, no folding tents, no bags in your hallway.
Where I come
Metropolis, Brookport and Paducah.
Magnolia is based in Metropolis, Illinois. Paducah is thirteen miles and about seventeen minutes away, so the Ohio River genuinely isn’t an obstacle — I cross it constantly.
If you’re in one of the smaller towns nearby and you’re not sure whether I’ll come that far, just ask. The answer is usually yes.
